Non-refundable airline tickets — important rules
- Many promotional, discounted, and fixed-date airfares are issued as non-refundable or with heavy cancellation / change penalties, as defined by the airline’s fare rules.
- Cancellations, no-shows, or schedule changes initiated by you may result in no refund, or only taxes / partial amounts after the airline applies its charges.
- Name corrections must match passport / ID exactly; airlines may deny boarding or charge fees for changes — some tickets cannot be amended at all.
- Fuel surcharges, taxes, and service fees are often non-refundable even when a partial fare refund is allowed by the airline.
- If a flight is cancelled by the airline, refund or rebooking follows that carrier’s policy and applicable law — not guaranteed as a full cash refund.
- By booking a fixed departure, you accept that airline fare rules are binding and may limit or exclude refunds. Always confirm fare type at the time of payment.
